Beauty Bag Goodies

Nivea A Kiss Of Shine:
This lip shine is liptastic! I absolutely love it in a non-paid spokesperson type of way:) It gives your lips a natural shine and it’s not sticky at all. It’s part of my daily lip care routine. Even if I’m wearing lipstick this shine is always applied both underneath and over it.

Aveda Brightening Moisture Treatment:
I suffer from dry dull sensitive skin. Since I’ve added this (and drinking more water) to my morning and nightly routine I see drastic improvement. My skin is softer, better hydrated, and clearer.

The bottle says to apply after Aveda Brightening Essence but this was gifted to me and it’s seems to get the job done fairly well solo.

Aveda Botanical Kinetics Purifying Creme Cleanser:
As you can tell I’m fond of Aveda products. Not all, but a good many of them. I’ve used this cleanser for a few years. It’s very light and has a refreshing smell that I love.

When I apply it to my face, I usually leave it on the length of my shower before rinsing it off. This does nothing special. It’s just a habit. My face always feels super clean after each use. I love that it comes in a recyclable glass bottle.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula:
This cocoa butter is like a family heirloom. All the woman in my family use it. It can be used as a moisturizer. Skin toner. Preventer of stretch marks. I use it as a heel softener. I apply a small amount onto my heels right before bedtime, then pull on my best long stripe socks. Oh, how my husband just loves this:) It’s very thick so I use only a pea size amount.

I like to experiment with different brands of creams, serums, moisturizers, and lip care goodies. What about you? What’s in your beauty bag?

  1. I’m always trying different things, and I never seem to settle on any one thing, although I just use regular old Vaseline on my lips before bed because it seems to last the longest.

  2. My beauty bag is going through a remodel! LOL! I’m trying to stock up on all natural stuff these days. Totally a work in progress. I do have some Carol’s Daughter toner. You’re right, the cocoa butter is magic!!

@Cam | Bbis&Baubles, Oh, I’d love to hear more about natural beauty products that you find and work for you. I’ve had mixed reviews from friend on Carol’s Daughter products, (which is natural for all products) but what results have you seen with the toner?

  3. Let me tell you that Palmers is awesome!! It should be a home staple. lol
In my goodie bag, I have a ton of stuff, but I must have lipgloss & eyeliner.
Aveda has some great products, I haven’t picked up anything lately but always pleased with them.
Skin care, I really like Mary Kay cleanser & moisturizer. I have been using it for years now.

  4. That palmers is the business. I love to also keep vaseline and a great bottle of lotion in my bag. Nothing fancy just simple things that I can be versatile with. The vaseline I can use to put on a cut, put in the hair, or on dry chapped lips.

@kita, I see lots of people are using vaseline for multiple uses. Tyra Banks puts a smudge under each eye at night before bedtime… or so I’ve read somewhere:)

  5. anything hypoallergenic… I use CeraVe lotion.. very sensitive skin.

  6. In the winter time, my skin gets really dry. I have found that Eucerine’s Q10 moisturizer (the one that comes in a little glass jar) is the only thing that works for me. I wouldn’t use it in the summer though, because it can be a little too oily at that time of year. I also like the Purity cleanser by Philosophy. It is normally a bit out of my price range but when I can splurge on it, I do.

  8. I am all over that Palmer’s. My husband jokes that my babies look like shiny pennies after I grease them up. I love the smell of it. I tried the oil and it just wasn’t the same. Went on easier but I prefer the old fashioned version.

I love Aveda products. I normally stick to the hair, but I think i am going to try that cleanser. I am in the market for a new one that is a little more moisturizing for the fall/winter.

  9. Cetaphil cleanser, some of that ol’ school pink Olay moisturizer, Blistex Deep Renewal lip balm (a must have..no other brand touches my lips!), and my Rx strength Retin A.

i had no idea Tyra put Vaseline petroleum jelly under her eyes at night…i do the same thing…i have no idea why, but it feels so good!

@Miss Donna, Cetaphil just doesn’t work for me. Others rave about it. I used it for a month. Maybe I should have tried two.

Yes, I read that’s one of her beauty tricks!

  10. @Stesha, @ Stesha:
I like Carol’s Daughter. I used to use the moisturizer and cleanser as well. The cleanser didn’t get my face clean enough but I liked the moisturizer. I stopped buying it only because I was looking for something with sunscreen in it. Still hanging on to the toner though.
