If You’re A Blogger, Please Put A Title On It
My Thoughts: So you’re one of those “mommy bloggers,” right?
My Response: Yes. No. Kinda. Sorta. Maybe?
My Thoughts: Stop squirming. It’s either yes or no. Which is it?
My Response: Well. I do blog. I am a mom…but I don’t consider myself to be just a “mommy blogger.”
My Thoughts: So the term “mommy blogger” offends you? You think you’re too good to be called a mommy blogger?
My Response: No! I just don’t want to be….I just want people to see….I’m more than just….
My Thoughts: You’re more than just what? Are you scared to say it?
My Response: I guess I am – scared. Yes, I’ve said it over and over in my head- but never out loud.
My Thoughts: Why?
My Response: Think it, but don’t say it. Isn’t that the name of the game? Who doesn’t want to be one of the cool kids?
My Thoughts: What? This isn’t junior high, so say it!
My Response: Okay. I’m a blogger. I blog about stuff. All types of stuff. Yes, some of that stuff includes Dora the Explorer, pregnancy weight, new puppies, and husbands who fart.(I mean who doesn’t have one of those, these days?)
But. There is other stuff too.
And to be honest, I’m not afraid of being categorized as a “mommy blogger.” (it’s a great category to be in.) What I am afraid of is this: “check one category, please.”
My Thoughts: So basically, what you’re telling me, is that you want “Stuff Blogger” as a catergory?
My Response: Yes.

“Mommy bloggers” sounds like a cult.
i guess i need a title…mommy blogger sounds like more work to me though. no way.
I’ve had that conversation too. I don’t care what title you give me though as long as people are visiting and commenting – that’s it my title is Comment Whore
Mommy Blogger, Soccer Mom….I’m all of it!
Yeah, Stuff Blogger would fit me also ;O)
I don’t want a title but if I have to have one it should be “Fun Blogger”
What about shit blogger? I guess that encompasses mommy bloggers too though. Geez, I don’t even know what label I would fit under but it definitely would not be Mommy blogger.
Funny, I found my blog on somebody’s sidebar labeled under “Mommy Bloggers”. It made me laugh and wonder if this person actually reads my blog at all.
Pretty sure you have to have a kid to be a mommy blogger, unless she knows something I don’t!
Pooba, you are the shit, my
friend. And if anyone disagrees with that, tell them to come see me. So I can send them right back to you.
I’m hard like that!
Hugs and Mocha,
Stesha
Stuff blogger fits me too. Who needs labels anyway–that’s what I say. Just call me a stuff blogger.
I feel the same way. I’m a blogger and I happen to be a mom, but more times than not I’m blogging about something other than being a mom.
LOL I loved this! I’m not a mommy blogger either. More like stuff because I blog about it all lol.
I think I’m a stuff blogger also, but I also think I like the term Lady Blogger (’cause it sounds better than Woman Blogger) … I’m a mom, woman, writer who blogs. See? Woman Blogger.
I like “Stuff Blogger” …fits better than anything I’ve seen so far!!
I like Stuff Blogger! Catchy.
I life Stuff Blogger, spice it up a bit – you know altering the spelling that always makes things cool witih the kids these days, yah? Like Stuph or Stuf or S-Tuff – you know give you an edge
haha
I’ve been a blog stalker lately… sorry bout that – very ANTI-SITS of me. Bad me.
I just blog about what I wanna. I have nevr wanted to be categorized either.
I am kinda like Seinfeld..I blog “about nothing”..kinda..but it’s funny “nothing’, ya know? When I mention I am a Mommy Blogger in my community, I get complete blank stares and cricket chirping noises. I live in a blog wasteland apparently.
Embrace your mommy bloggerness…resistance is futile. Muwah! Love ya!
Stesha, you are a brilliant comedy writer. You can make me laugh out loud no matter what you write about. I could care less what you call yourself – as long as you write I will read.
Semantics … damn semantics, I say!! I chose the title “I dare you to categorize me” blogger. There.
I have this friend that works for a PR company that specializes in internet marketing…and she introduced me to a co-worker of hers as a mommy blogger…and i am not even a mommy. she insists i fit the bill…kids or no kids…apparently it is a very general moniker
thanks for stopping by my site…i am going to cruise around your blog a bit!
I’m totally a STUFF blogger. If the term Mommy Blogger can help me advance in life, fine. But honestly? I don’t want to be called one. I’m a mom. I blog.
Yep, I’m a STUFF blogger too.
