Hello there! The weekend is over and I suppose you’re forging ahead into your Monday duties. Before you get too overwhelmed, I’d like to share a brilliant video on how to style a scarf 5 different ways. I hope you’re as inspired by it as I am. My favorite part – it’s a bit over 60 seconds. What’s your favorite way to wear a scarf?
How many ways could you think of to style denim jeans? Tara and Jody of Dump Your Frump says 26! They’re currently featuring a series called 26 Days of Denim in which they style 26 outfits using numerous pairs of jeans, (that Jody currently owns!) various accessories, clothing, and shoes.
The good news: everyday women (including us moms!) can pull off these looks by applying the simple styling techniques the ladies suggest. The bad news: these shoes belong to me. If you currently have a size 7.5 in your closet please ship them to me ASAP. Thanks for shoesitting:-)
How do you style your jeans? Do you dress them up? Or down? Fun Fashion Fact: Jody originally owned 33 pairs of jeans before the start of this series.
Do you remember the self-lacing shoes Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) wore in Back to the Future II? Nike is auctioning their own limited-run version on eBay, with proceeds to benefit Parkinson’s research. My eldest son, Tyler, would love to own a pair. It’s very unlikely he will though. The first pair of 2011 Nike Air Mags auctioned off for well over thirty-seven thousand dollars. Wowzer!
Do your kids share a bedroom? I spotted these cool hanging beds on The Bumper Crop. We’re currently looking for new ideas on how to style the shared sleeping quarters of my three boys, and have it reflect each of their personalities. Any ideas? Their ages are 14, 7, and 8; and they all love robots!
Jennae of Green Your Decor made a recycled denim pencil case for her daughter’s school pencils! I love that she used a pair of old denim jeans as her fabric. Brooklyn has a girl’s day planned for her 4th birthday this weekend. I’m thinking denim cases as party favors!(There’s only two invited guests.) Here are Jennae’s instructions!
Are you familiar with Handstand Kids? A cookbook series that introduces your little chefs to food and language from around the globe. My family received a copy of the Handstand Kids Mexican Cookbook Kit a few weeks ago. The kit arrived in a resealable tortilla bag complete with a kitchen utensil!
The book has a clean layout, vibrant illustrations, and easy to follow recipes which include an ingredient list written in English and Spanish! Each recipe level is measured by avocados. One avocado means your child can basically cook a meal by themselves with little help. Also featured in the cookbook are character Handstand Kids who journey with your little chefs from recipe to recipe.
My kids are excited about our cookbook; we plan to cook a meal together from it weekly. I’m so lucky to have my own personal Top Chefs! What about you – do you spend quality preparing meals with your little chefs?
{I received a complimentary copy of the Handstand Kids Mexican Cookbook Kit. The views expressed are 100% my own.}
Are you obsessed with home decorating and organization as much as I am? If you are, you should take a look at Any Random Jane. A line of beautiful home accessories. I’m coveting the nursery rhyme canvas – cheery and colorful! A fantastic gift for a new mom to decorate baby’s nursery and later the toddler room. Chic and economical:) Did I mention the line was created by two sisters? So fun!
Summer has been fun; but steamy sticky days (and nights) are overrated. I’m looking forward to crisp cool air, golden orange leaves, and beautiful flowing scarves. J.Crew has a few of my favorite scarf patterns available – prints and stripes! Are you looking forward to Fall?
When the United Nations declared famine in the Horn of Africa, I felt the need to do something. After learning about the ONE Campaign, I signed up to be a ONE Mom Team Member. If I can use my tiny space to create a loud noise – so be it. It’s free to sign up. I encourage you to do so.
P.S. For some reason this post didn’t release in time for ONE week – July 25-30.
