The Elusive Egg Can Not Elude Martha Stewart
This house has been abuzz with Easter excitement for weeks. And the person with the most buzz? ME. Easter is a special time for me. When I was little, in preparation for Easter, my grandmother would gather all the girls in the car, and take us shopping for our Easter dresses. After shopping, we would all have lunch, and then go home and get our hair done. I’m telling y’all, those were truly good times for me. Even if my ears were often burned by the hot comb. That’s the price of beauty…you know?
So since childhood, I’ve always wanted to have the perfect Easter for my own family. And each year, I have succeeded in just that. Almost.
There is one thing that has eluded me for years. One thing that has taunted me constantly during the Easter holiday. One thing that I just can’t have. PERFECTLY DYED EASTER EGGS. Y’all, I can’t dye Easter eggs worth crap. They look about as good as John, Tiger,or Jesse in a room full of strippers. Not. Good. At. All. But this year, I made a plan. I would seek the help of my dear friend Martha. After chatting with Martha, (in my mind) I was told that all I would need to make PERFECTLY DYED EASTER EGGS were the following:
Boiled Eggs.

Egg Dye.

Electrical Tape. (I promise there was no bondage involved. In between all the dammits…THIS IS A GOOD WHOLESOME BLOG.)

And her egg dyeing instructions. Which could be found on page 155, of the latest copy of Martha Stewart Living. (Oh Martha, pimping your products out to your friends is so Donald Trump, and I totally respect you for it.)

My dear friend Martha, pinkie swore that these four items combined, would result in PERFECTLY DYED EASTER EGGS. PERFECT. So after reading my best bud’s step by step instructions, the dyeing… and crying…began. I tell no lie. It wasn’t pretty.
I taped.

My dear readers, we should all hold hands, chest bump, fist pump, and nod our heads in agreement, that Martha Stewart… does in fact…hold the secret to PERFECTLY DYED EASTER EGGS.

They’re exquisite and perfect and beyond my abilities!

Those eggs are gorgeous! The last time I dyed Easter eggs, I got over-enthusiastic with the colors and they all ended up brown.
