The Pretend Bicycle Pedaler
My body is bloated and compacted with processed foods. I’m anxious and never feel rested anymore. I need a detox. A cleanse. A fresh start. I need rejuvenation or a swift kick in the bum.
Last night everything came to a screeching halt. I was actually lying on my bedroom floor (as my husband looked on as if he were about to have me committed to an asylum) pretending to ride a bicycle. Pedaling as hard as I could. In my mind I was pedaling away from cellulite, stretch marks, those pesky 5lbs + 15 more, thighs that rub together, jeans that fit at the start of the morning, but, by mid-day cut my stomach in half.
I am flabby, lethargic, complacent, and fluffier than I’d like to be. I want stuff back in order. I’m tired of looking like a sausage casing about to explode. I’m double tired of wearing Spanx. I’m triple tired of starting each sentence with I. Sigh. I digress.
Don’t feel pangs of remorse for me. It’s my fault and I own it. Stuffing one’s body to the brim with caffeine and chocolate muffins seems like a great idea until one day it’s not a great idea.
Today, it wasn’t such a great idea

Get up, dust yourself off and start over again! You can do it!!

Sounds like you just took the first step to changing it all.

I agree with Cam. Looks like you already made the first steps. Just remember to do things slowly. For some reason, our body does not like change, but if you sneak it in, then it won’t notice…right?

I agree, small changes made gradually are much easier to sneak in than a total overhaul. Go for it! Unless you are like me and can’t indulge in moderation, requiring a total bootcamp style makeover.

I hear you. But it’s HARD when those muffins keep calling ones name…
